I ended last month's review with, "To me, it's about not giving up and having faith in yourself. Bring it on, August!" And that was exactly what happened. Countless opportunities have manifested in the past month. I've had nights where I slept with a smile on my face, and I've had nights where I thought I was underperforming. Either way, I tried not to lose faith. I turned them into change (as you can tell from the images in this issue of The Entrepreneur Log). And it paid off.

1. Admitting who I am - Guest on podcast with Tiana Ludhani

Tiana was looking for a guest on her podcast "I wear high heels and drink wine" on one of the Women of Hong Kong Whatsapp groups. I became interested and reached out. In the beginning, I thought I only had a few mansplaining examples to share. But as we got into the IG Live session, more and more incidents came spilling.

For women like me, who are often regarded as direct and opinionated in the Asian corporate environment, we often mask others' insensitivity as a problem of our own. In particular, comments made by men who hold a higher positions. It's not pleasant to realize that so many others, like Tiana and myself, have experienced this, but I'm glad we are part of the conversation to remind other women that they are not alone.

2. Sharing my knowledge - Contributor on The Lighthouse Social

Many marketers, especially in content marketing, have said that the easiest way to grow their presence is by guest blogging on other websites. Trust me - I have tried. But pages of writing guidelines really aren't my cup of tea. Indeed, it helps keep content consistency, but it was difficult for me to fit my style in with rigorous frameworks until I saw that The Lighthouse.social was looking for writers' submissions.

Founded by Luan Wise, the platform gathers the latest social media news and hosts many social media-specific webinars. I came across Luan through her sharing with Andy Lambert on ContentCal first. As a thought leader in the industry, I was honored to become one of the site's contributors. My first guest blog, 3 ways to create Instagram Reels quickly for your company account is now live on the website.

3. Answering questions with insights - IG Live with David Meltzer

This opportunity came as such a surprise! David Meltzer's team found me on Motivator Music's Top 75 Speakers to Watch in 2022 list and decided to reach out. As the Co-founder of Sports 1 Marketing with a mission to empower over 1 billion people to be happy, I was ecstatic to join him on his "Talk About It Tuesday" IG Live.

During the conversation, we covered topics such as what makes good storytelling, how to select the right distribution channel and more! For those interested, visit David Meltzer's IG here to watch the full live session.

4. Testimonials and reviews - Ranking #1 at the Social Media Strategies for Entrepreneurs Virtual Summit

The process of the content doesn't stop after the content is live. Its journey has merely begun! For those following me, you would know I was one of 12 speakers at the Social Media Strategies for Entrepreneurs Virtual Summit. Since then, I have kept in touch with the organizer, Joanna King. She has been kind to record a testimonial video and told me I was voted as the #1 speaker over the 2-day event!

Such achievement means a lot to me. That's how I know I am offering unique value. Once again, I thank her for her kind words, and I can't wait to be a part of upcoming events again.

On top of that, one of my mentees from Upskill Training has successfully graduated from the 3-month program! I am proud to see her growth and can't wait to see what she will achieve in the future. It means a lot for me to award her a digital certificate and seal as well.

Thank you for the certificate! Don’t know why but it feels like getting a bonus sticker from my teacher.
You have definitely given me a clearer picture of how I can grow my business with the skills I already have, and the many other skills I’ll need to learn and refine. I was stuck for the longest time, but you showed me different approaches and ways of thinking. I look forward to exploring and experimenting with these new ideas!

5. Manifesting opportunities - Winning the Most engaged entrepreneur mentor award

Last but not least, I am proud to receive my second award for Joyce Tsang Content Marketing! Cocoon Foundation hosted their Cocoon Pioneering Youth Innovator event under JCCSTEP Program on the 27th of August and invited me to attend as an awardee.

It is amazing to be recognized by my favorite educational organization and to collaborate on high school workshops over the past several months. As the new school year start, I can't wait to contribute more and continue to promote entrepreneurship and content marketing with high school students in Hong Kong.

Since my half-year content audit, I have gathered a lot of valuable insights that challenged me to make changes to my content. In September, I will release a completely new format on Instagram, refining my posts on Linkedin, and using Facebook strategically different. I spent days refining my strategy and am looking forward to seeing how my new thinking will perform. I can't wait to connect with more people soon and see how my content continues to help me manifest opportunities! I also had the privilege to connect with another US industry giant during August. Since nothing is confirmed yet, I cannot reveal details and am trying hard to contain the excitement. But in my heart, I hope it works out!
